Once you get your residence permit in Curacao you will have to follow some steps to collect your permit and acquire your resident status.

Additionally, you will need to fill out a digital immigration card and print it together with your residence permit approved to present at customs at the airport. Make sure you check with your immigration lawyer before traveling if any additional measurement is required.
Health insurance: One of the first things to do is to purchase local health insurance, one of the conditions of your residence permit is to always have valid health insurance for the duration of your stay. Ask for a quotation for free.
Since 2014 any expat is covered by the local health insurance “SVB” not even when the ex-pat has a valid work permit and has an accident in the workplace. If you are an investor or a pensioner international health insurance might be accepted if mentions that cover RESIDENCE in Curacao.
Dutch and US citizens can obtain the public health insurance “SVB” therefore, they don’t need private health insurance.
Deposit: if you are not Dutch or American and you are not married to a Dutch citizen you must pay a security deposit in Belasting, the amount depends on the country of origin in order to collect your residency permit. The amount to pay varies depending on your nationality. (See table of prices)
That safety deposit can only be reimbursed once you become a Dutch citizen or prior your final departure from Curacao.
Collecting your permit and your local ID:
First, you will need to register with the Admission Office (Immigration) upon arrival in Curacao to collect your residence permit.
Immediately, after collecting your residence permit in immigration Curacao, you must go to register as a resident in the civil registry “Kranshi” located in Otrabanda.
Finally, you need to request an appointment to collect your local identification “sedula” in Kranshi.
